West Alabama women’s golf finished seventh at the Bama Beach Bash co-hosted by The University of South Alabama and The University of Alabama at Birmingham, carding 316 in the final round at the Gulf Shores Golf Club on Sunday.
Alicia Fajardo-Monzon finished highest among the Tiger women’s golfers, tying for 17th afterposting a 54-hole total of 230 (76-76-78). Ye Eun Jin fell two spots from round two, tying for 31st with fellow Tiger golfer Jessica Smyth.
West Florida took the top spot, holding the position through all three rounds. UAB jumped No. 25 West Georgia for the second spot with a combined 914.
UWG landed in third after picking up four strokes, finishing one stroke behind UAB. South Alabama finished fourth with 924 (313-309-302), while McNeese State rounded out the top five, jumping Omaha (938; 317-306-315) with 928 (310-315-303).
The Tigers next game will be the University of West Georgia Women’s Invitational. The 36-hole tournament is set to take place at the Sunset Hills Country Club April 3-4.
