The University of West Alabama’s CAB organization will begin their journey in finding the next Tiger Idol. Tiger idol is the chance to shine on stage, showing the campus students your talent. For the first week of the competition, contestants can perform a song of their choice to kick of their journey of Tiger Idol.
The following weeks will have a pre-picked theme such as Disney and even the 80’s for contestants to showcase the variety of skill in their voice. Contestants are voted through by the student body each week and the finalist of the competition are scheduled to perform during the 2014 Miss Paragon Pageant in the Bib Graves Auditorium.
Sophomore Nicole Siggers compete as a freshman last year and went all the way in the competition, thanks to her student body of fans. Throughout the competition, Siggers performed popular hits “Valerie”, “I need a Hero” and “Beautiful Disaster”. “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” by The Script was her song of choice as her victory song.
“It was light and fun with friendly competition” says Siggers. “The student body really seemed to enjoy the music competitors put out there and I couldn’t have been more blessed and honored to be the first winner of Tiger Idol.”
The first night of competition will be held in the Tiger’s Den, located in the student union building, on Mar. 4 at 7 p.m.
