It’s the best time of the year! That’s right, everyone. Fall is just around the corner! We are barely into October and the Pumpkin Spice Latte is already out (if only Livingston had a Starbucks) and football season has officially begun! Although I am not the world’s biggest fan, I obviously still have to dress for the occasion.
1.If you prefer to dress more on the feminine side with a pop of trendy elements, here is the outfit for you. Wear a simple A-line dress in your team’s color with a strappy flat sandal. Heels may seem cute, but they are such a bad idea for a football game, so ladies, stay away. Accessorize this outfit with a statement necklace, a skinny belt and a crosssbody purse. But heed these words of advice: nothing too flashy.
2.Maybe sports aren’t really your thing, and all you really want to do is turn tailgating into a fashion show. That IS okay. Every girl, along with myself, is guilty of this. As we noticed in the spring and summer, chevron is a hit. Fortunately, this new trend is projected to carry over into the fall. For a hot, trendy look, put on your chevron maxi dress. Keep your accessories very simple because the chevron will clash with any bold and bubbly accessory. A simple, long necklace and stud earrings are ideal for this dress. Grab a pair of sunglasses and a colored crossbody or clutch to complete this fun and fashionable ensemble.
3.If you do enjoy watching the game and from time-to-time you find yourself screaming at the refs, you do not want to wear anything restricting that could keep you from jumping for joy or screaming in anger. Therefore, here is the outfit to keep you looking casual and cool while cheering during every play: a loose-fitted tank top in your school’s color with a pair of destroyed denim shorts. Complete this outfit with aviators and t-strap sandals to keep things simple and classic. A good touch to liven this outfit up a bit would be a chevron scarf and a pair of stud earrings featuring your team’s mascot. Something I have always loved to do is tuck in my tanks and add a cute belt to bring in the color of your shoes or other access.
4.With the arrival of fall, we also get the arrival of cooler temperatures. If you find yourself trying to stay cool but also trying to look cute, try a layered outfit like this one: a checked shirt in your school’s colors over a pair of dark skinny jeans or jeggings. Instead of a heavy coat, try a puffer vest in a neutral tone to contrast the plaid. Slip on a pair of riding boots to finish that fall look. You can accessorize with a simple necklace and a bow headband for a girly twist.
5. You don’t necessarily have to go to the game to be in the spirit! If you’re hanging at home with friends or family for the game, this outfit will be perfect for you: pair a simple, comfy team crew neck with bold colored jeans in the team’s colors. Add a coordinating tank for another layer in the look. Simple earrings are all the jewelry you need. Finally, you can effortlessly top of this comfortable look with a top knot and flats. This look is perfect for laid-back ladies.
