Toni Braxton is a seven-time Grammy winning superstar who has sold millions of records worldwide with the help of songs like “Unbreak My Heart,” “Another Sad Love Song,” and “He Wasn’t Man Enough.” She now can add to her discography with the release of “Braxton Family Christmas” accompanied by her four sisters, Traci, Towamda, Trina, and Tamar. This makes the second Christmas album for Braxton and the first album for the sisters as a whole.
America knows the sisters mainly for their shenanigans on their critically acclaimed reality show, “Braxton Family Values,” which chronicles the lives of the musical quintet as well as their mother, Evelyn. Many seasons of the show featured the sisters at ends with each other to make a family album together and it was thought it would not happen. This will make the first album from their new record deal with Def Jam Records.
The album features familiar Christmas tunes with Braxton twists and also two original songs from the sisters. Also, expect to hear an original duet from Toni and the only brother of the Braxton family, Michael entitled “Under the Christmas Tree”.
The album also features another original slow ballad called, “Blessed New Year,” performed by Toni and her harmonious sisters. Another notable single is an a cappella version of “O Holy Night” which showcases the Braxtons’ famous harmonies and riffs. The sisters close out the album with a twist on the Donny Hathaway hit, “This Christmas” that is sure to have you press repeat.
The album is available now everywhere and is a definite piece of work to add to your holiday collection.
