Driving down Washington Street in the city of Livingston is all it would take for any visitor to see that there is not much going on. There are four sit down restaurants, a McDonald’s, a Subway, a Sonic, Family Dollar and Dollar General along with many local stores. So what do the college students and the residents of Livingston do to have fun?
The best thing to do is go on a day trip. Any Livingston resident could go to Meridian, Tuscaloosa or even Demopolis. The day trip to experience this time involves Meridian, Miss., and it features a place that many do not know about. The Park at North Hills is a great place to get away from the stresses of Livingston. It is a unique place where kids and adults can enjoy a little fun for just the day.
At the Park at North Hills there are a number of different activities for anyone to enjoy. There are batting cages, go-karts, laser tag, a game room and mini golf. The top games in their game room include “Deal or No Deal,” “Wheel of Fortune,” “Big Bass Billy,” “Ice Ball” and “The Terminator.” The game room can be enjoyed by all ages, and you can win numerous prizes.
Coming soon to the Park is the Battle at the Park. This event is for the laser tag arena to give all visitors a brand new experience. The Park will also be adding airsoft to their array of activities.
If you are looking just to enjoy yourself at a round of swings or a group of people The Parks at North Hills is the spot to be. Anyone can book the Palms, a venue at the Park, for events such as Sweet 16s, proms, graduation parties, brunches and even bridal showers.
The Park at North Hill is a great place for college students short on money to go. Laser tag is only $10 for 30 minutes and $15 for an hour. Go-karts only cost $7 for an eight minute ride. Batting cages, with a wide variety of speeds from 40 mph to 70 mph, only cost $1.10 per round.
The game room uses a game card that can hold up to $50. The games in the studio only cost a dollar. Jungle golf or their mini golf course is only $6.50 for any adult.
This place is a great and cheap experience to escape the hard aches of class and the boredoms of Livingston.
“It was a good time and good to get away from Livingston for a bit,” Taylor Bratton a senior at UWA said. “I mainly did the go-karts with my friends, but we want to try the outdoor laser tag.”
